"All I want for Christmas is my two front teeth, my two front teeth..."
"Silver bells, silver bells, it's Christmas time, in the city..."
"We wish you a Merry Christmas, We wish you a Merry Christmas..."
Oops, I didn't get to sing these all-time Christmas favourites this season... not for quite some time liao.... used to hear it on the radio when we were pre-teens and bunked in the same room as mum... or once in while when we attended Christmas parties... or caught some snippets in the malls while rushing through the last minute shopping madness...
What happened to singing, with friends and family? Last time we sang was at the hospital, when a group of voluntary befrienders came armed with song sheets and guitars, by my Kuma's bedside earlier last year....
But then hor, this Christmas I received some pretty cute stuff; last batch passed to me last night from a family friend, all the way from the Aussie family.
I was born in the Year of the Rat and most people around me would call me "Laoshu" "Poor Little Church Mouse" or give me items with images of the cute little rodents. Initially I wanted to name the soap business "The Fat Rat Soaps" but was vetoed by the Aussie cousin. Imagine: who wants to buy soaps from the Rat? (Only a friend said I could perhaps name it "The Clean Fat Rat"... oh, never mind)
Tonight is Twelfth Night. And here I want to share with you the wonderful gifts I've received from family and friends:
Something clean and something green
Something bright and something light
Something small and something big
All things bright and beautiful make my life wonderful
Thank you, thank you, thank you.
